    Designed to assist students with exploring artificial intelligence and programming in the robotic and automation industry.

    Prerequisites:  Robotics I

    Special Notes:  This course satisfies a math credit requirement for students on the Foundation High School Program.


    Welding I (#7802)

    Designed to develop knowledge and skills related to this system and apply them to personal career development.

    Term:  Full Year Credits:  2.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

    Prerequisites:  Recommended:  Algebra I, Principles of Manufacturing, Introduction to Precision Metal Manufacturing, or Introduction to Welding

    Special Notes:  This course is available for Dual Credit. Please see your counselor.  Student must pass safety test with 100% mastery.

Career Preparation - General Education (#7943)

Career Preparation - General Education is a comprehensive, state approved, high school elective course designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the workplace. This course combines classroom instruction (1 period) with hands-on, real-world experiences through supervised internships or employment (2 to 3 periods at job site). Students will explore various career pathways, develop professional skills, and gain practical experience in a work environment. The course aims to bridge the gap between school and career by integrating academic learning with practical application in a chosen career field. The curriculum emphasizes employability skills, including communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and professionalism. Career Preparation encourages students to plan for their futures by setting career goals, exploring post-secondary education options, and developing a strong work ethic. Students must meet minimum hours of work each week.

Term:   Credits:   2.0-3.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Must be 16 years or older

Special Notes:  Students must leave the school campus upon release and may not return until the following school day unless prior arrangements are made.  Participation in the course requires maintaining academic, attendance, and behavioral standards; failure to do so may result in removal from the course.  Students must secure and maintain employment or an internship throughout the course, with supervision provided by the employer and the school.  A training plan must be signed by employer, student, and parent/guardian as outlined by TEA. 


Career Preparation - Programs of Study (#7949)

This course builds upon the foundational skills and knowledge acquired in following a CTE program of study, offering advanced opportunities for students to deepen their workplace competencies and gain further real-world experience. This course can be used to meet the program of study requirements for CCMR (College Career and Military Readiness) accountability if paired with an industry-based certification. This course is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a professional environment. Through a combination of classroom instruction (1 period) and work-based learning experiences (1 to 2 additional periods on job), students will explore various career pathways and develop the competencies necessary for success in the workplace. Students must meet minimum hours of work each week in the industry related to their program of study. 

Term:   Credits:   2.0-3.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Must have completed a level two CTE course or higher as part of a program of study.  Must be 16 years or older.
